Certified copy of will (26 February 1855) and codicils (9 Oct 1856 and 26 March 1858) of Mrs. Mary Phillips, Edstone Hall, widow. - To daughter Catherine Emma Phillips estate at Inkberrow in fee. - 1/2 share furniture, books, plate, household effects. £2000 1/2 residue of estate - To daughter Mary Elizabeth Galton (wife of Darwin) Estate at Baschurch, Salop., in fee. 1/2 furniture etc. farming stock and implements [to husband]. 1/2 residue of estate Residue of real and personal estate to trustees, Darwin Galton and William Oakes Hunt, to sell and pay legacies. - To brother John Weir : £100 - To nephew Rev. John Weir: £100 - To sisters: Margaret, Barbara, Sophia, Ann and Lydia, jointly - annuity of £200 for lives and lives of survivors. On death of last, fund to fall into residue of estate. - To trustees: £100 each. Mortgaged and trust estates to trustees to carry out. Trustees are executors. 1st Codicil Cottage at Wootton Wawen purchased since will, to Mary Elizabeth Galton. £100 each to nephews and nieces, viz: Robert Weir Alexander Weir, Henry Weir, Thomas Weir, Edmund Weir Mary, wife of Rev. Loftus Read, Caroline Weir Harriet Weir and Louisa Weir. £25 to housekeeper Mrs. Susan Palmer. £10 to Ann Wilson, wife of James, formerly personal maid. £10 to James Wilson. £19.19.0 to Ann Chellingworth, housemaid. £5 each to servants of more than 2 years employ at time of death.
