Copy of the Will of John Salmon of Shipston-upon-Stour, woolcomber. Bequeathed all his estate real and personal to his wife Sarah for her lifetime and after her death as follows:- To his daughter Elizabeth Salmon, a house in New Street, Shipston-upon-Stour called the Sign of the Star in the occupation of George Adams. To his daughter Sarah Groves, wife of William Groves of the same place, taylor, two cottages in New Street in the occupation of George Ricketts and Mary Bonner. To his son Thomas Salmon two cottages in New Street in the occupation of Robert Baylis and Elizabeth Birmingham. To his son George Salmon a cottage in New Street in the occupation of Sarah Power. All these six cottages held by copyhold of the Dean and Chapter of Worcester and subject to a mortgage of £40 owed to Edward Wilkins of Shipston-upon-Stour which they are to repay in equal shares. To his son Richard Keytley Salmon a cottage in Mill Street, Shipston-upon-Stour in occupation of the testator. To his son in law William Groves another cottage in Mill Street, in his possession together with the shop built by the said William Groves. This cottages to pass to the said Richard Keytley Salmon at the end of 14 years who was to pay the said William Groves £10 for his costs in building the said shop. These two cottages held under lease for 40 years from the Dean and Chapter of Worcester. To his son John Salmon he bequeathed his clock, featherbed, bedstead, with curtains, blanketts and quilt. The residue of his personal goods to be divided equally among his said children on the death of his wife. Appointed Thomas Salmon and Richard Keytley Salmon to be his Executors.
