Indenture of assignment between John James, citizen and merchant tailor of London and ffrances Curtis of the parish of St. Andrew, Holborn, co. Middx., widow of the one part and William Savage, citizen and cordwainer of London, of the other part, reciting that by indenture tripartite dated 1 April 1670 between John Curtis, citizen and brewer of London of the first part, Thomas Harrison of the parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate, London, glover, of the second part, and Richard Duke of London, gentleman and George Lulls of the Middle Temple, London, gentleman of the third part, John Curtis demised to Thomas Harrison the following lands, viz: Two acres of meadow on the S. side of land of Thomas Hundson in Enfield, co. Middx., in a certain mead or marsh known as Wildmarsh, between the meadow ground of the late Kings Majestie on the N. and S., one head abutting on land of John Wilford, gentleman, to the W. and the other on the Low River to the E. Two peeces of arable land in Broadfield in the parish of Enfield, one half acre of which lay between land of John Goddard jun. on the N. and land of John Garrett on the S., one head abutting on West Crofts on the E. and another on land of John Taylor on the W., and other three roods lay between land of John Bankes jun. on the N. and land of Edward Curtis on the S., one head abutting on West Crofts on the E., and the other on land of John Taylor on the W. His messuage, garden, orchard and curtilage in Baker Streete in Enfield A parcel of meadow or marsh in Millmarsh in the parish of Enfield, one part thereof extending to a meadow called the Little Luddersey, which said parcel was late in the occupation of Abraham Hunt sen., deceased, and after of Abraham Hunt jun., deceased, and after that of Robert Curtis One acre of meadow in Wildmarsh late parcel of the possessions of the manor or ffarme of Hony Lane and Pentrishes, co. Middx., bounding on the meadow then or late of Christopher Hill and S. on the meadow then or late of John Wrothe esquire For the term of 500 years at a peppercorn rent, under a proviso long since infringed and broken, whereby the premises were forfeited and became absolute for the residue of the said term, and reciting that Thomas Harrison, by indenture dated 4 May 1672 assigned them to John James, who assigned the same by indenture dated 16 May 1672 to ffrances Curtis, who in turn by indenture dated 16 September 1675 assigned them to John James for the residue of the term of 500 years under a proviso which had also since been broken, so that the premises were forfeited to John James, and then witnessing that the said John James, at the request and with consent of ffrances Curtis and in consideration of £100 paid him by William Savage, assigned to William Savage the said first recited indenture of lease and the said three indentures of assignment and the said messuage and lands for the residue of the term of 500 years, provided that if she, ffrances Curtis, should pay William Savage £106 in specified instalments on specified days (payments to be made at the dwelling house of John Looker, scrivener, in Bishopsgate Street, London) he would at her request reconvey to her all and singular the said premises. Endorsed with a memorandum that William Savage, in consideration of £130.12s.6d in full payment of principal and interest moneys then due paid by Charles Walton of London, gentleman, by the direction and appointment of John James, assigned to Charles Walton the within-recited indentures and the within mentioned messuage and lands for the residue of the term of 500 years, signed and sealed 7 September 1685 by William Savage, small papered seal on tongue out in side of first membrane, witnesses Wm.
