Description

Counterpart of lease, indented, from John Clopton master, John Hannys, Roger Pagette, John Gilberte, John Wager, John Brightwelle, Thomas Walker, Richard Walker and Reginald Flecher, aldermen, and John Tetersale, proctors of the Gild of the Holy Cross etc. of Stratford upon Auen, to John Hoggekyns, of Stratford, `bocher', Emmote his wife, and John and Roger their sons, of a shop with a chamber built over it in Middelrowe, formerly in the tenure of John Stokes, together with a small `chere' (A narrow passage, or alley, between two buildings.) now built at the end of the said shop: for term of their lives, at an annual rent of 5s. and to keep the buildings in good repair Witnesses: John Clopton and John Gilberte `constabularii ville', William Roose and William Brewes, `subballivi', and others Dated at Stratford in the hall of the Gild, on the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 13 Edward IV Seals of red wax, both damaged.
