Description

Conveyance by lease and release from John Taylor of Birmingham, joiner, Charles Taylor of Stratford-upon-Avon, joiner, and Samuel Taylor of Stratford-upon-Avon, victualler, three of the sons of Thomas Taylor, late of Stratford-upon-Avon, joiner, deceased, to Thomas Taylor of Stratford-upon-Avon, joiner, eldest son and heir of the said Thomas Taylor, and his trustee, Thomas Cleaver of Stratford-upon-Avon, stationer (reciting that Thomas Taylor, by his will dated 2 September 1759, bequeathed all his property in Stratford to his wife Jane for life, with remainder to his sons as tenants in common, and reciting that the said sons had partitioned their inheritance and that Thomas Taylor the younger had agreed to take the following premises) for £150, of a messuage divided into two tenements in High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, late in the tenure of John Lacy and now of John Gill and Elizabeth Whitehead (measurements given) bounded on the north by a malthouse belonging to Mr. Bolton and on the south by a messuage late belonging to Mr. Mannering, deceased, now in the possession of Benjamin Burbidge; also the rooms over a house late belonging to Mrs. Goode, and now to William Bolton, measuring fourteen feet along the street and 36 feet in depth, with a garden belonging thereto late in the tenure of Samuel Jarvis and now of Benjamin Burbidge, containing 80 feet on the south side next to Thomas Sheldon's garden and in breadth on the east side next to William Bolton's brewhouse, 28 feet; also one other garden belonging to the said messuage in the possession of John Meacham measuring 48 feet on the west side next to the garden late in the tenure of John Izod and now of Charles Taylor, and 53½ feet in length on the south, next to William Bolton's barn; all which premises were lately purchased by Thomas Taylor the elder, deceased, from Aaron Poynton, Ann Poynton and Mary Powell.
