Description

Counterpart of lease, indented, from John Webbe, master of the Gild of the Holy Cross, etc., of Stratford upon Auen, and William Parche mentmaker and John Marchall, proctors, with the assent of the aldermen and the whole council of the said Gild, to John Payn, `bocher', and Rose his wife, of a tenement in Stratford in Bruggestrete between a tenement of the Warden of the collegiate church of Stratford and a tenement of William Smytht in breadth, and extending in length from the said street to le Gyleputtes, for 20 years at an annual rent of 20 shillings and a chief rent of 12 pence to the heirs of Sir William Bysschopiston, knt Witnesses: Thomas Balsale, `capitalis ballivus', John Harrop' and Edward Halle, `subballivi' John Sclatter, Richard Compton and others Dated at Stratford, in the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 26 Henry VI Seals of red wax.
