Description

Copy will of John Haines, Long Marston, Glos., gent. To son John: all real and personal estates subject to payment of legacies. If John die without issue then To testator's grandson, Joseph Haines Brandish ; Upper House and two yard land. Other legacies: £20 annuity to daughter Ann Brandish. £40 each to children of Ann Brandish, viz: Ann, Betsey, Peggy, Joseph Haines and Thomas at age 21. £100 to daughter Elizabeth Bennett. £20 annuity to daughter Hester Haines during spinsterhood and £600 at marriage if husband not already the father of children by previous wife. If so, then only annuity. If she die unmarried, power to bequeath £600 as she wishes. Son John executor. Witnesses: Job Widdows, Mary Webb, John Clerk. Proved at Gloucester, 11 May 1774 by John Haines.
