Mortgage by lease and release from John Acton of Bengworth, co. Worcs., ironmonger and Pearshouse Drury of Evesham, brazier, to William Halford of Alveston, yeoman, (reciting DR65/20-22 and that the mortgage of debt of £700 therein mentioned had been paid off) of a messuage, being one of three, in High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, in the tenure of Mr. Boote, Agent to the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal Navigation, bounded on one side by one other of the said three messuages in the tenure of John Manton and on the other by a messuage of Thomas Satchwell, peruk maker, to secure £250. It is also witnessed that John Moseley Gilbert Cheek of Evesham, clerk, has assigned to Thomas Cresswell of Stratford-upon-Avon, gentleman, in trust for the said William Halford, a term of 2000 years in the said messuage, for the better securing of the repayment of the said mortgage of £250
