Stratford estates of Ambrose Dudley, Earl of Warwick

Transcript by Clarence Hopper, of the Special Commission taken anno 32 Elizabeth [1590], on the estate of Ambrose Dudley, Earl of Warwick, so far as relates to the rents of free tenants of the Manor of Stratford upon Avon, and to Old Stratford, Welcombe and Shottery. Among the tenants in Stratford (f. 6) is John Shackespere holding one tenement at a rent of 6d; and another at a rent of 13d;, with suit of court.
