Probate granted 20 February 1849 of the will (13 Oct 1848) of Richard Barr, Alveston, gent., granted to Edward Gibbs, Stratford-upon-Avon, architect and Orlando Canning, Stratford-upon-Avon, draper, the executors: - To wife Hannah: 3 newly erected messuages in Old Town [Nos. 17-19], Stratford-upon-Avon, in the occupations of Thomas Kyte; J. E. H. Greves and Mathew Smith for life then to nephews and neices as tenants in common. All household goods and furniture absolutely. - To trustees Gibbs Canning : £900. - interest of £600 to wife Hannah for life; interest of £300 to brother Thomas Barr for life and then £300 principal to Thomas, son of Thomas. - To sisters Mary, Martha, Hannah and Charlotte: £50 each. - To Treasurer of Stratford-upon-Avon Infirmary: £2. Residue of personal estate, 20 shares in Deritend Brewery and £600, after death of Hannah, to be sold and divided between nephews and nieces. 25 April 1875.
