Copy settlement on the marriage of Thomas Archer of Umberslade, Tanworth, esquire, son and heir apparent of Andrew Archer of the same, to Katherine Tipping of Pirgo, co. Essex, daughter of Dame Anne Tipping of the same, widow, being a conveyance by lease and release from Andrew Archer and Thomas Archer to Edward Earl of Oxford and Thomas Archer of Whitehall, co. Middx., esquire, for £10,000 paid by Anne Tipping to Andrew Archer of, firstly, the manors of Tanworth, Umberslade, Monkspath, Fullwood, Solihull and Henley-in-Arden and messuages and lands (specified) in Tanworth, Umberslade, Monkspath, Fullwood, Solihull, Henley-in-Arden, Widney End, Henwood, Knowle, Longdon, Nuthurst, Hampton-in-Arden, Ullenhall, Wootton Wawen, Packwood, Beaudesert, Warwick, Charlecote, Aston Cantlow and Clifford Chambers, and Alchurch, co. Worcs., and secondly, the capital messuage called Umberslade Hall and other lands (specified) in Umberslade, Nuthurst, Tanworth and Claverdon; to hold in trust, as to the premises secondly described, to the use of Andrew Archer for life, with remainder to his son, Thomas Archer, and as to the residue, to the use of Thomas Archer for life, with remainder to his sons in tail male, subject to the payment of an annuity of £1,000 to his intended wife, should she survive him.
