Description

Conveyance by lease and release (lease missing) from William Dyer of Chelsea, co. Middx., esq., and Anne his wife (one of the three sisters and co-heirs of Sir Hele Hook, bart., deceased) and William Dyer the younger, esq., their son, Thomas Grove the younger of Ferne, co. Wilts., eldest son of Thomas Grove of Ferne, esq., and Elizabeth his late wife (one of the other three sisters and co-heirs of the said Sir Hele Hook) and John Hammond of Whitton, co. Suffolk, esq., eldest son and heir of William Hammond of the same, esq., and Mary his wife (the last of the three sisters and co-heirs of the said Sir Hele Hook) to Joseph Biscoe of the Inner Temple, London, gentleman, of the manors of Stretton Baskerville and Shelford, the advowson of Stretton Baskerville, the rectory and church of Burton Hastings, the farms in the tenures of John Watts., John Green, Mr. Woolfe, Mr. Whitmore, William Shepey, Richard Miller, Joseph Sewell and William Garrett in Stretton Baskerville, Hinckley, Wolvey, Burton Hastings and Shelford, and the farms in the said parishes and hamlets (late in the tenure of Dame Esther Hook, deceased, as dower) in the occupations of Robert Ball, Joseph Spiers. Mr. Queenborough, Mr. Shovell, Joseph Harper, Richard Dawson, George Townsend, Thomas Wright, Edward Ellis, Joseph Beeby, Richard Sheppard and Thomas Smith; to hold the same as perfect tenant of the freehold in order that a recovery of the said lands may be made against him by John Grove of Ferne, co. Wilts., esq., to the following uses: as to one undivided third part of the said premises to the uses expressed in DR46/2; as to one other third part, to the use of the said Thomas Grove; and as to the other third part, to the use of the said John Hammond.
