Description

Partition by lease and release between John Grove of Ferne, co. Wilts., esq., brother and heir of Thomas Grove, esq., deceased (son and heir of Thomas Grove etc. as in DR46/3) and Philippa his wife of the first part, Elizabeth Heathcote of Hanover Square, co. Middx., widow (sister and devisee for life under the will of Hele Dyer, late of Chelsea, esq., only surviving son of William Dyer the elder and Anne his wife etc. as in DR46/3) and Sir Thomas Dyer of the parish of St John the Evangelist, Westminster, bart., to whom the said Hele Dyer granted the reversion of premises held by the said Elizabeth Heathcote, of the second part, and William Watson of Hinckley, co. Leics., mercer (grantee and purchaser under William Hamilton and Vincent John Biscoe, esqs., devisees under the will of Edmund Hamond, esq., deceased, only surviving son and heir of William Hamond esq. and Mary his wife etc. as in DR46/3) and William Holbech of Farnborough, esq., his mortgagee: being a conveyance by lease and release from the above parties to Francis Wheler of the Inner Temple, London, gentleman, of the manors of Stretton Baskerville and Shelford, the rectory, tythes and advowson of the church of Burton Hastings, two messuages and 2ΒΌ yardlands in Wolvey, and the nineteen farms and tenements specified in DR46/3 (present tenants named) in Stretton Baskerville, Hinckley, Wolvey, Burton Hastings and Shelford, to hold to the following uses: as to the manor of Shelford described in Lot 1 (Tim Ball's farm in Hydes Pastures and Hinckley, William Wood's farm in Stretton Baskerville, John Lawrence's farm in Stretton Baskerville, 5 cottages in Stretton Baskerville, John Lawrence's farm in Shelford and John Warner's farm in Wolvey) to the use of the said William Holbech subject to redemption by the said William Watson on repayment of a mortgage, dated 27 and 28 February 1766; as to property described in Lot 2 (the rectory and tithes of Burton Hastings, Joseph Spiers farm in Stretton Baskerville, Jonathan Mayne's farm in Stretton Baskerville, closes in Stretton containing 42a 2r 28p, Joseph Lawrence's farm in Shelford and Nicholas Scotten's messuage and land in Wolvey) to the use of trustees in trust for the said John Grove for life, and after his decease to his wife, Philippa Grove, with reversion to their son Thomas Grove in-tail male; and as to the manor of Stretton described in Lot 3, (William Mortimer's farm in Hydes Pastures, Thomas Ashmore's farm in Stretton Baskerville, Robert Timson's farm in Stretton Baskerville, Richard Webster's farm in Stretton Baskerville, Thomas Cooper's farm in Shelford, and William Dawson's, William Day's and Thomas Cooper's land at Wolvey) to the use of the said Elizabeth Heathcote with reversion to the said Sir Thomas Dyer and his heirs.
