Description

Conveyance by lease and release from Charles Floyer, late of Hints but now of Tamworth, co. Staffs., gentleman (son and heir of John Floyer of Hints, deceased) to Thomas Ashford and John Lord, both of Stratford-upon-Avon, saddlers' ironmongers, bridle-cutters and co-partners, for £250, of a messuage in High Street, late in the tenure of John Smith, mercer, since of William Eaves, and now of the said Thomas Ashford, together with a half part of a pew in the parish church of Stratford-upon-Avon belonging to the said messuage and to another messuage in Ely Street. Agreement to produce the following title deeds relating both to the messuage in High Street and the messuage in Ely Street: i) 6 July 13 James I: deed to declare the use of a recovery between Edmund Rawlins of Clements Inn, gentleman, and John Watkins of Clifford Chambers, yeoman, of the one part and William Smith of Stratford-upon-Avon, haberdasher, of the other part ii) 24 March 1691: conveyance from William Smith of Stratford-upon-Avon, apothecary, with the consent of Christopher Smith of Clifford Chambers, clerk, his eldest son, to John Smith of Warwick, gentleman, and Joseph Blissett of the same, woollendraper, in trust for raising portions for the younger sons of the said William Smith iii) 29 May 1700: release from John Smith, one of the sons of the said William Smith, for his portion as settled by the above settlement iv) 14 October 1700: a similar release from William Smith, another of the sons of the said William Smith v) 21 and 22 August 1743: settlement on the marriage of Elizabeth Smith of Stratford-upon-Avon, spinster, to John Floyer of Kinwarton, clerk, being a conveyance to trustees (Theophilus Levett of Lichfield, co. Staffs., gentleman, and Thomas Townsend of Alveston, gentleman) vi) 2 and 3 July 1753: conveyance from Thomas Townsend, with the consent of John Floyer and Elizabeth his wife (formerly Elizabeth Smith) to Charles Floyer of Hints, co. Staffs., gentleman, to hold for the use of the said John and Elizabeth Floyer and their heirs. vii) Trinity Term 7 George III: fine between Charles Floyer, plaintiff, and John Floyer and Elizabeth his wife, deforciants viii) 31 July 1758: settlement on the marriage of Arabella Dighton of Ascott, co.
