Copy probate of the will of Edward Green of Stratford-upon-Avon, retired innkeeper, dated 14 November 1865, bequeathing moveable goods to his wife, Mary Green, and to his brothers in law, James Tallis of Bishops Itchington, yeoman, and Edward Tallis of Claverdon, farmer, a messuage known as the One Elm on the corner of Guild Street and Shakespeare Street, in the tenure of his son, Charles Green, and two messuages in Shakespeare Street, in the tenures of himself and John Horton Godfrey; to hold for the benefit of his wife Mary for life, and, after her death, to sell the One Elm but to hold the messuages in Shakespeare Street in trust to pay from the rents and profits 4 shillings a week to the testator's grandson, Bertram Edward Green, until he reached the age of 21, and then to the absolute use of his daughter Hannah Freeman.
