Lease from Penelope Chattaway on 11 Bevington Road, Oxford, spinster, to Edward Fox of 29 High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, bookseller and stationer, of a messuage in Bridge Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, near a certain place called The Cross, formerly in the occupation of Richard Chattaway, then of Messrs. Chattaway and Samman, then of Henry Samman, then of Charles Harbage but now void, bounded on the west by a messuage held by lease under the Corporation of Stratford-upon-Avon, being a corner house in High Street, also formerly in the tenure of the said Henry Samman, and late of Charles Harbage, on the north by Bridge Street, on the east by a messuage described below, and on the south by a messuage in High Street in the occupation of S. Hilton; also a messuage adjoining the last on the east, late in the tenure of Francis Broom, then of William Ennals, then of Henry Samman, since of Charles Harbage, but now void, bounded on the east by a tenement formerly in the tenure of John Lord, since of ----- Branson, widow, and now of ----- Zepler; which said messuages are now thrown together and used as one; to hold the same for 20 years rendering annually £65.
