Description

Will of Anthony Nash, Old Stratford, gent. : £5 to poor of Stratford-upon-Avon; 20 shillings to Almsfolk of Stratford-upon-Avon; 13/4 to poor of parish at funeral. Wife Mary to have £600 either in toto or yearly from income of estate. Also all household goods and plate to wife for life then to executor. £500 to son John; half within 6 months, rest within another year, plus ring to be chosen at discretion brother Thomas, and testator's girdle. £40 to daughter [Ann] Coxe; if she dead, then to executor and £20 to son-in-law William Coxe. £10 to servant Joseph Jelf. To son Thomas a messuage in New Stratford [Stratford-upon-Avon] called The Beare and a messuage adjoining house of William Cawdry, together with close called The Butt Close. Residue of estate to son Thomas who sole executor. Witnesses: John Nash, Thomas Jelf, Richard Lucas. Proved at London 2 December 1622.
