Bishops Tachbrook, Warwickshire Manorial Records

Description

View of frankpledge with court of Edward Fisher, held at Tachbrook, for for Stivichall, Chadshunt, Gaydon, Itchington and Tachbrook: 3 October, 24 Elizabeth. This record is written on the reverse side of a letter, dated at Warwick, from Edmund Gregory to his brother [Arthur], informing him that, in Arthur's absence, Mr. Hales had left five pounds `to redeme your patent' in his [Edmund's] custody, and that Edmund, believing that he was to go abroad before Arthur's return, had entrusted the money to `my sure frend'. As Arthur had returned sooner than expected, and because Edmund's friend would be absent until Friday night, Edmund asks that the payment of the money be delayed until then.
