Will of Jerome Nash, Old Woodstock, Oxon., esq. To be buried in church of New Woodstock with his father, mother and other near kindred. 40 shillings to poor of New Woodstock; 40 shillings to poor of Wootton; 20 shillings to poor of Long ; 20 shillings to poor of Handborough; 10 shillings to poor of Bladon and Hensington; 10 shillings to poor of Stonesfield; £20 to grandson Francis Nash Gregory. All books except Common Law books to kinsman Francis Chennell. Residue of estate to brother Richard who sole executor. Witnesses: Francis Gregory Sr., Stephen Gregory. Codicil: 19 September 1623. To Anne Gregory wife of Francis Gregory: feather bed with a home-made tick and the bedstead in the chamber of Mr. Richard Nash, together with a pair of home-made blankets, a darned coverlet, a boulster, a pillow, a chest, 2 pair flaxen sheets, one pair Holland pillow beers. Acknowledges that bed he lies on, the 2 bolsters, 2 blankets, green rug, pillows, bedstead, curtains and valances are the rightful property of Francis Gregory which he gave to him and his wife [testator's daughter] before they were married. Bequeaths to Francis Gregory all his hemp and to Francis Gregory, his wife and testator's godson 3 years board and 1 room in his house. Old servant Guy Berkley to have his house for life at 1 noble p.a. and testator's old gown. Witnesses: Thomas Johnes, Elizabeth Longwell.
