Grant: High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Description

Grant from John Eyres of Stratford-upon-Avon and Thomas Compton of the same to William Hale, weaver, and Isabella his wife, of a tenement in Stratford aforesaid in the High Street between the tenement of Thomas Staffordshyre called the Swan and the tenement of William Myller, mercer. Witnesses: Richard Lokyer, capital bailiff of Stratford, John Clopton and John Gylbert, constables of Stratford, William Sampson and Thomas Weuer, sub-bailiffs Dated at Stratford, Monday next after the feast of St. George, 11 Edward IV [1471]. Two seals of red wax: i) Broken and defaced ii) Illegible, with fragment of grass imbedded in the wax.
