Draft release by (1) Rev. John Seagrave of Halford, clerk, Sarah his wife and Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah Seagrave of Warwick, spinsters (which John, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah are the only children of Edward Seagrave, formerly of Oxhill, late of Castle Ashby, Northants., clerk, deceased, by Mary his wife, only child and heir of Thomas Johnson formerly of Shipston, baker, by Mary (née Plestoe) his wife); (2) William Horniblow, Shipston-on-Stour, surgeon to (3) Robert Hall, Little Wolford, yeoman, and James Salisbury Findon of Shipston, gent. (the trustee appointed by Robert Hall) for £503.3s.0d of piece of land, being Lot 9 sold at public auction by John Seagrave et al, viz: A close of ancient enclosed meadow in Tidmington, adjoining the Oxford to Birmingham turnpike, being 6a 0r 15p, now in the occupation of Francis Hawks, bounded on the east by the turnpike, on the south by land of the Rev. Thomas Lambert Snow, on west by land purchased at same sale by John Byrkin Bellamy and on north by lands also purchased by William Horniblow of the said Seagraves. William Horniblow, being purchaser of the largest and most valuable Lot at the sale, is to have deeds, but covenants to produce them on demand. Recitals 1) 11 12 April 1771: Deed to declare the uses of a fine between Mary Johnson, widow of Thomas, and Edward Seagrave and Mary his wife, the only child of Mary and Thomas, whereby meadow ground in Tidmington was settled to the use of Mary Johnson for life, then to Edward Seagrave for life with remainder to Mary Seagrave for life, then to her children as she disposes or, in the absence of any disposition, equally between the children. 2) Deaths of Mary Johnson, Edward Seagrave and Mary Seagrave.
