Baddesley Clinton and Rowington

Description

Gift from John de Pessam of Rouhinton' to Bernard de Merston' in return for a certain sum of money of six crofts of land as they are enclosed by hedges and ditches lying in Baddesleye Clynton' and Rouhynton', two crofts and part of one croft lying in Baddesleye called in turn Pappeleyecroft and Brounescroft with a certain piece of Ledestescroft, lying in length from the fields called Reuefeldes as far as Grenefeld which formerly belonged to James de Clynton' and in breadth from the wood called Haywode on the one had and the highway leading towards Warr' on the other. The other four crofts lying in Rouhynton' called Ledestescroft, Grenefeld, Hockstude, and La Lye with hedges, ditches and other appurtenances. To hold the same for ever from the chief lords of the feo for due and customary service. Warranty clause. Sealing clause. Witnesses: John de Nafford, John de Wodegate, Alan de Knolle, John Godman, John le Warner, Nicholas de Lega and others. Given at Rouhinton' Thursday on the Octave of the martyrdom of the Innocents 3 Edward III [4 January 1330]. Tag for seal. Endorsed: 1.
