Compton Verney: early deeds

Description

Grant by William, son of Robert Durvassal of Compton Murdak to Robert his son, of one messauge in Compton Murdak, with one virgate of arable land in the fields of the same vill, namely the messuage and virgate which Henry, son of Simon of Compton Murdak held of the grantor.

To hold for the life of the said Robert, paying annually one rose at the feast of St John the Baptist, for all services and suit of court due and accustomed, saving only foreign service due to the king.
