Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton, a grant

Description

Grant by Sir Thomas Murdak, lord of Compton Murdak to John Jones of Compton Murdak, chaplain, of one toft with adjoining enclosed croft, which William Hobben, John Stonehill, Robert Webbe lately held in Compton aforesaid; together with two acres of arable land in the fields of Compton, of which half an acre lies in 'Brodehaldesslade' between the land of Richard Hold; another half acre lies against 'Alderesslade' Hill beside the land of Richard Hold; another half acre lies in 'cheannles' between the land of the said Richard, and another half acre lies in 'Norslade'.

To hold the same land and toft with ditches, of the chief lord of the fee for services due and accustomed, and annual rent to Thomas Murdak of four shillings at the usual terms, in lieu of all services, suit of court and heriot.
