Compton Verney: early deeds, Compton Murdak, a grant

Description

Grant by Robert Skyrne to John Verney, dean of the cathedral church of Lichfield; John Smyth alias Redhill and William Bokeland, chaplains and Thomas Hull, of his manor of Compton Murdak with appurtenances.

Which said manor the said Robert with Richard Medford, formerly bishop of Salisbury, John, lord of Welles [sic] and Joan elder daughter and heir of Alice Perrers now deceased, formerly held by gift and feoffment of William Mekesburgh.

To hold the said manor with appurtenances of the chief lord of the fee for services due and accustomed.
