Post nuptial settlement of John Higgins of Bridge Town, esq and Emma (nee Hunt) his wife, youngest daughter of Thomas Hunt of Stratford, esq., following their marriage of 23rd August 1824 at Stratford: whereby in performance of recited articles etc., and for barring all estates tail, John Higgins released to George Faulkner of Bedford Row, St Andrew Holborn above Bars, gent, the messuage at Bordesley called the Potters, a close formerly in two, now in three parts divided called Barn Close of 10 acres, Long Close or Long Leasow or Jointure Close in three parts divided of 6 acres, and the close adjoining of three acres, Middle Close (8 acres), Over Close, Stanchmore Meadow or Hob Meadow or Little Meadow or Forrests Meadow (two acres) in Bordesley, and Bilingsleys Meadow or Long Meadow in Yardley, 5th November 1824. According to an enclosed note this deed settled the Birmingham property on John Higgins for life, then to Mrs Higgins in lieu of dower, and then to their issue as the parents should dictate, etc., c.1824.
