Original bundle of papers concerning her gift of a sum of money to her grandson, William Harold Brown: 1. Bank pass book of Mrs S. C. Cleaver, 1884-1903. 2. Letter signed by Sophia Caroline Cleaver addressed to John Slatter, 29th June 1899, stating that she has given her grandson William Harold Brown, on her death the sum of £161 10s 9d, but that John Slatter is to act as his trustee until he is 21 (he was born 18th October 1881). 3. Inland Revenue estate duty account on death of Mrs S. C. Cleaver on 11th January 1900, listing the money left to WHB, 1900. 4-5. Legal bills from Slatter Son Gibbs to William Brown, father of WHB, respecting the money to be given to WHB, 1899-1900. 6-11. Letters etc., from William H. Brown at Oxford, 1900-1903, and undated, about access to the money. 12. Cheque book counterfoils, entitled "J. S. [John Slatter] re Cleaver Brown", 1900-1902. 13. Account of a sum of money placed in the hands of John Slatter of Stratford, ... gentleman for the benefit of William Harold Brown of Stratford upon Avon aforesaid by Sophia Caroline Cleaver now deceased to be used and disposed of in accordance with the terms of a letter signed by the said Sophia Caroline Cleaver and dated twenty ninth June 1899. Approved by W. Harold Brown, who received the residue of the money, following his 21st birthday, 9th January 1903
