Description

Gift in frankalmoign with warranty from Alexander de Schireforde to the Abbot and Convent of Stonleye of a yearly rent of 3 shillings to be received from a messuage and quarter of land with appurtenances which the said Alexander purchased from Philip son of Richard de Hulle, (besides the rent and services which up till then he was accustomed to receive for the same tenement) with right of distraint in case of non-payment. Witnesses: Henry de Hockeleye, John Campion, William Rudde, Richard de Daddeleye, William Blundel and others. Dated at Stonl', Thursday in the Vigil of St. Andrew the Apostle, 4 Edward III. Seal on tag: circular, red. Two birds one above the other (Hawk and Dove?). Inscription illegible except for the word SUPERA. Endorsed: i) Carta Alexandri de Schireford'.
