Description

Lease with warranty from Sir Alexander le Bearecurt, with the assent of Agnes his wife, to Richard `prepositus' of Stapeleg' of the whole of his demesne in Stapeleg' in consideration of 2 shillings to him in hand paid; to hold of the said Alexander and Agnes for a term of 12 years to be reckoned from the feast of St. Michael, 54 Henry III, in return for every third sheaf of corn (pro tercia garba) from the demesne; and the said Richard shall cause to be carried to the grange of the said Alexander the third part of the winter crop (iveragii) and of the oats at his own cost; and a servant of the said Alexander shall be in the field to make the division.
