Description

Gift with warranty from Simon son of Augustine Peck of Asfordeby to Ralph Gregori of the same of a toft with appurtenances in the vill of Asfordeby lying next the king's way between the toft of Simon son of Stephen on the west, and the lane leading to the acre (ad acram) on the east; to hold the same of the said Simon to the said Ralph and his heirs (or to anyone to whom he should bequeath or sell it), rendering a grain of corn at Easter and 3 pence at three times of the year, namely at Trinity 1 penny to the brotherhood of Jerusalem and to Ralph Fraunce of the same vill 2 pence, i.e. at the feast of St. John the Baptist 1 penny, and at the Nativity of Our Lord 1 penny; and the said Ralph shall find a lodging (hospicium) for the said Simon and his wife Leticia for the remainder of their lives `in longitudine et latitudine in domo et gardino sicut in predicto tofto habuimus'; and the said Ralph has as sureties, John `prepositus' and Hugh son of Stephen bound in the sum of half a mark, to be paid to the bishop of Lincoln.
