Description

Quitclaim with warranty from Sara daughter of Emma widow, to God and the church of the Blessed Mary of Cumba and the monks there serving God of that portion of a meadow in the territory of Smita which is called Maggehok, that namely which Adam her husband on the day of her marriage gave to her as a marriage portion; and for this release the said monks give to the grantor 12 pence and one half quarter of wheat. Witnesses: John de Pontefracto, William de Herdewic, Richard de Bushale William Reimumd (sic), Ralph de Herdbur', Andrew de Bilneya and others. Seal on tag: a pointed oval, brown. A fleur de lys.
