Settlement of all controversies and disputes between the Abbot and Convent of Cumba on the one part and all the free men, tenants of the town and community of Brinkelawe, namely John the Chaplain, Henry son of William, William Paris, Adam son of Roger, Henry the Clerk his brother, Gilbert de Wauere, Jordan son of Thomas, Adam son of Jordan, William Edward, William de Ardena, Robert Smith (Faber), Hugh Colemon, Roger Carter (Caretarius), Hugh le King, Henry son of Robert, Thomas Edward, William de Mertona, Roger son of William, Jordan Marmiun, Thomas de la Barre, Richard son of Walter, Ralph Burgeis, Hugh Pedifer, and Henry at the Mill on the other part; in such a manner that the said Abbot and Convent will common with the aforesaid men of Brinkelawe in their assarts with all their cattle in 1a Wodegraunge from the Feast of St. Michael to the Feast of St. Mary in March. And the said men of Brinkelawe will common with the aforesaid Abbot and Convent with their cattle in the assart of the Abbot and Convent from the Feast of St. Michael to the Feast of St. Mary in March and in outer Burthleya and the heath which is next Burthleya and in the meadow below the Abbey even as formerly they were went. In the assart, however, of the aforesaid Abbot and Convent they (the men of Brinklow) will make three hedges on the new ditch towards Brinkelawe through which at the said times the men should enter and go out with their cattle to feed and not by the hedge which is below the wood.
