Description

Lease from the Prior and Convent of the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Mary of Coventr' to Sir John Halome, chaplain, of all the tithes of hay in the parish of Stychale belonging to the said Prior and Convent; for which the said John is to pay an annual rent of 4 shillings to the said Prior and Convent to be taken by their steward at Michaelmas; with reversion of the said tithes to the said Convent on the death of the said John. Dated at Coventr', 1 October 1404 Seal on tag; circular, white. The letters IhC under a canopy surmounted by a cross. Endorsed: i) an appendix to the deed to the effect that if the said John alienated the said tithes, or if the said rent was in arrears beyond six weeks, then the Prior and Convent should take possession of the said tithes ii) Indentura de decimis feni apud Stychale concessa domino Johanni Halome pro iiij sups; annuatim [?15th c.] iii) Seneschall' [?15th c.] iv) Parochia et ecclesia de Stychall [AG]
