Ralph Walter Kibler Morgan

Description

Packet of letters and other papers relating to Ralph Walter Kibler Morgan's service in South Africa as a corporal in the 42 Company, 12th Regiment Imperial Yeomanry. On 25 November 1901 he was seriously wounded and was sent home to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, in February 1902. By November 1902 he had been transferred to the General Hospital, Birmingham. Some 65 of the items are letters from R.W.K. Morgan to his family and have been published, in a limited edition, in 'Letters Home from South Africa and Hospitals, 1901-1903 from Ralph Walter Kibler Morgan', 1991. The bundle also contains other letters and papers relating to R.W.K. Morgan's war service, some of which are to be found in 'Letters Home ...' but also included is a batch of letters of sympathy to the Morgan family on the news of R.W.K. Morgan's injury
