Papers relating to cottages and land at Tiddington, in Alveston, bought by M. C. Ashwin from the Trustees of the will of Sir Robert North Collie Hamilton, Bart., in 1889. Includes: 2 August 1888 Particulars of sale of the late Sir R.N.C. Hamilton's Tiddington estate comprising Avoncliffe, nineteen cottages, and the school buildings. 1 May 1889 Draft conveyance from the said trustees to M. C. Ashwin of Lot 9 (2 cottages in School Lane) and Lot 16 (an adjoining close on which 'Aescwine' was subsequently built). Draft mortgage of these properties, including three further cottages built in School Lane, and of 'Aescwine', built in 1892, 30 September 1889, 26 November 1889, 2 December 1892, 3 December 1892; subsequent draft assignments of these mortgages, 16 March 1903, 12 April 1910, 16 December 1916; and repayment by Manley Horton Ashwin of Stratford-upon-Avon, merchant, and others, 18 December 1916. 13 August 1891 Abstract of M.C.
