Richard Darley, Stoneleigh to Thomas Hill Mortimer, Albany: regrets having had to inform Mr. Thurlby that Mr. Leigh declined to offer him a farm at Maxstoke. Will write to Mrs. Leigh about other applicant when he has been properly informed. Mr. Garlick expressed wish to look at the farm for his son Richard who `has till lately been very wild and unsteady. Mentions deeds that Mr. Watts has sent for land sold to Edward Arnold and Joseph Young and money he has obtained from Pratt of Warwick due to Mr. Leigh £145.15s.0d. Asks if Mr. Leigh is agreeable to making 10 percnt; allowance on half year rents to Stoneleigh tenants.
