Tanworth

Description

Lease for 10 years with counterpart from John Archer esquire to Thomas Lee of Toneworth' of a parcel of land in Ton' called Wyllyngeslond', lying in length and breadth between the land of the said John called Hytenwikes, land of Richard Fullewod' called Fullewodisfeld' and the lane leading from the house of Hugh Dey as far as Tythbarn' on all sides; to hold for 10 years from the feast of the Purifucation [2 February] last, for the annual rent of 7 shillings [2 terms]; the said Thomas having the right during the said term to cut and fell all the woods and subwoods growing on the arable and meadow land for his own use, so that he might clear and strip the said parcel of land and chop the same; the said Thomas by his own efforts was also to have sufficient heybote to make a close hedge around the said parcel of land. Dated at Toneworth' on the feast of St. Gregory the Pope, 16 Edward IV. Witnesses: Henry Chamber, John Smyth', John Lys and others.
