Description

Lease for 20 years with warranty from Alice Waren' of Toneworth' and Richard Waren', her son and heir, to John Broun' of the same of a field in Toneworth' called Sydenhales Newelond' lying in length and breadth between the land of William Catesby knight called Ven'lon d' and the highways on all sides; to hold from the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary [2 February] last past fro 20 years, paying the annual rent of 26 shillings and 8 pence [2 terms] to the said Alice and Richard, tenths and fifteenths to the King and amercements and dues in lieu of digging services if any of these fell due during the said term; the said Alice and Richard to have the right of distraint if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears beyond one month of the said terms, and the right of re-entry after three months if the said rent was still unpaid or in arrears or sufficient distraint could not be found; the said John to have sufficient heybote to maintain the hedges during the said term without making any waste and to hand over the same at the end of the said term properly bounded.
