Description

Lease for 20 years from John Archer esquire to Thomas Mill' of the parish of Sullihyll' of a messuage with 8 pastures and a meadow lying in the fee of Tonworth' called Watirs, the said John to bring to the said ground a house of two bays at his own cost before the feast of St. Thomas the Martyr next [29 September] and the said Thomas should 'reer and fenyssche' the house at his own cost before the feast of Mare Mawdelen [22 July] next following; the said John to provide on the day of 'reryng' the said house 'iij wryghts' and bring straw to the said ground for thatching the said house and find timber necessary to finish the said house and also boards for doors and windows for the same; the said Thomas to set up on the said ground a barn of two bays within 61/2 [years] after the date aforesaid at his own cost, the said John finding timber for the same and straw to thatch the said barn; the said Thomas to carry out all repairs to the said house during the said term and pay to the said John 26s. 8d. annual rent at the feasts of St. Dunstan [19 May] and All Hallows [1 November]; the said John to have right of distraint for non-payment or arrears after 14 days and the right of re-entry for the same after one month.
