Description

Lease for 40 years with warranty from Daniel Sheldon gentleman to Richard Whateley of a messuage called Strages with all meadows, lands, pastures and feedings lying within the lordship of Tonworthe; to hold the same for 40 years from the date of this lease rendering annually 11 shillings [2 terms], the said Daniel having the right of distraint if the said rent was unpaid or in arrears for one monthe beyond any of the said terms and the right to hold the same until the said rent was fully paid; the said Richard was to maintain all the buildings on the said messuage and to pay all the dues on the said property due to the chief lords of the fee during the said term; the said Richard to have the right to take husbote and haybote during the said term and was to pay heriot of 40 pence on the death of any of the tenants or on the resignation of any of the tenants.
