Description

Lease from Thomas Wescot of Tanworth yeoman to Richard Haselocke esquire of one pasture with a meadow adjoining the same and a parcel of ground called Swannesdycke lying in Tanworth between the land of the said Thomas Wescote on the east side, the land of one Sergeandes in the south and the lane leading from Charlcote pole to Warwycke on all sides, then in the tenure of the said Richard Haselocke; to hold from the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary [2 February] in 3 years time for 18 years, rendering annually 46s. 8d. [2 terms] and one capon at Christmas; the said Thomas having the right of eviction for non-payment or arrears of the said rent 14 days beyond any of the said terms; the said Richard having the right of tinsell for mounding the said land during the said term and the right to make the said land mowable or arable by removing brushwood and brambles and to have the same for his own use.
