Lease from Andrew Archer of Tanworthe esquire to John Ingram of Tanworth husbandman for £30 of a capital messuage or farm called Newlands farm with all buildings and with one meadow in which the said messuage was situated, one pasture called Budlond near the said messuage, one other pasture called Heathefylde abutting on Byrchecrosse, one other pasture called Sherrandes Hyll' and 2 selions in Henefylde abutting on the Careswall meadow, all which property lies in Tanworthe in the tenure of the said John; to hold from the feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary last for 21 years rendering annually £7. 5s. [2 terms], the said Andrew having the right of re-entry for non-payment or arrears of the said rent; the said John was to have Tynsell, Howsebote and haybote, to maintain the said premises and was to leave at the end of the said term; the said Andrew reserving all fishponds in Budland and Sherone Hyll' and the fish in the same with free entry and exit for fishing in the same and also reserving the right to fell trees and coppice wood in the Heathefylde and Budland, the said John to maintain the hedges of the said coppices and the 'sprynge' of the same; the said John also to pay suit of court at the manor of Umberslade and Monkespath when called and heriot when due and chief rent and other charges on the said land; the said John was not to assign the same during the said term except to his wife and children or to Edward Archer gentleman without the consent of the said Andrew; the said John was not to convert to tillage any more of the said land than was now used for the same without the consent of the said Andrew.
