Description

Arbitration award by Thomas Mariet esquire and Thomas Grenewoode gentleman concerning the dispute between John Dormer of Steple Barton, Oxfordshire, esquire, one of the sons of Sir Michael Dromer, deceased, and Andrew Archer of Tanworth' esquire over the manor of Monkespath' and lands in Tanworth', Monkespath', Wotton' and Cleburie, in Warwickshire and Shropshire, and concerning bonds made by Richard Archer, grandfather of the said Andrew, to the said Sir Michael Dormer; stating that the said Andrew should hold the said manor and lands freely, (except for some lands in Wotton' bargained and sold by the said John Dormer to Ralph Woodward) and that the said John should deliver all deeds relating to the same to the said Andrew before Christmas next; for which the said Andrew was to pay the said John 200 marks, provision being made to exclude Elizabeth, wife of the said John, from taking part in the execution of this award.
