Grant of wardship from Sir Simon Archer of Tanworth to Joyce Brooks widow and administrator of the goods of John Brookes late of Tanworth gentleman deceased for £5 of the wardship of John Brookes, son of the said John Brookes and the profit of 2 closes in Tanworth called Coppfield and Coppgrove, of which the said John Brookes the elder was seised at the time of his death and formerly belonging to one Bentford and held of the said Sir Simon as of his manor of Monkespath by knight service, that is by homage, fealty, rescuage, suit of court, the annual rent of 18d and relief and heriot when due; the said John was also seised of a messuage and lands, formerly the lands of Fullwood in Tanworth and held of the said Sir Simon as of his manor of Tanworth by soccgae, that is fealty, suit of court, the annual rent of 2s.8d. and relief and heriot when due; the said John the younger being under age at the death of his father, the wardship of the said John, the profits of the said 2 closes called Coppfield and Coppgrove and 2 black cows being the best goods of the said John the father was vested in the said Simon; to hold until the said John Brookes the younger reaches the age of 21 years, rendering annually 18d.
