Hampton-in-Arden

Quitclaim from John Pecche lord of Hamptone in Ardena to Robert de Salle, prior, and the convent of Kenilleworth' of the site of the mill next to the bridge at Bradeford' with the moor and alder grove extending from the land of Pakenton' as far as the hedge of Richard Bertram of Didinton' with the water course called Blithe, all which William de Arden', an ancestor of the grantor, held from the said Prior and Convent for the annual rent of 23s., the grantor reserving to himself and his heirs the fishing rights in the said river, although it was permitted for the Prior and his successors, himself and his canons, when they were at Pakinton' to fish there as far as their lands extended; for this quitclaim the said prior and convent granted that no corn mill should be built there but they were permitted to build a fulling mill there and a mill pond at Didinton'. Dated at Hampton' in Arden' the Kalends of September 27 Edward I.
