Bargain and sale by Sir Simon Archer of Tanworth, knight, to John Greene of Tanworth, yeoman, and Thomas Greene of Bishopton, yeoman, for £155 of one toft or close, where lately a cottage stood, called Chapell Close in Bishopton in Strattford, also one acre of meadow lying in the common meadow of Welcombe near to the Tythe swathes of Bishopton on the north; also three acres of arable land in the fields of Bishopton on the furlong called Bombreche furlong, between the land of Francis Aynge on the south and a certain furlong called Bradblatherne furlong on the north and abutting towards midlesbreache furlong on the east side and towards Wilnecott on the west; also four acres of arable land in Bishopton lying on Midlebreeche furlong, extending near the land of Nicholas Lane and now of William Hickes and Thomas Dighton, gentleman, on the south and the said Bradblatherne furlong on the north and towards the king's highway leading between Henley and Stratford on the east and extending in breadth towards the said three acres of arable land on the west; also 11/2 acres of arable land on Willews hill near the said land of the said Nicholas Lane and now of the said William Hickes and Thomas Dighton on the west and the land formerly of Thomas Horne and now of Thomas Greene the elder on the east and abutting towards the Meare in the fields of Bishopton and Shottery on the south and the highway leading towards Wilnecote on the north; also two acres of arable land lying at Crathorne furlong between the land of William Aynge on the west and the furlong called Waterland on the east and abutting towards Wilncote pasture in the south; also two acres of arable land lying between the said land formerly of the said Nicholas Lane and now of the said William Hickes and Thomas Dighton in Waterland furlong on the north and of Francis Ainge on the South, the furlong called Bushes on the east and the furlong called Woodland furlong on the west; five acres of arable land on Woodland furlong between the land of Francis Ainge on the west, the furlong called Hinyon furlong on the east; 11/2 acres of arable land lying on Redland between the land formerly of Rafe Caudrey alias Cooke and now of John Cooke on the north and the land late of the Earl of Warwick on the south and abutting on the king's highway called Clopton Lane on the west; also one acre of arable land on Shellshill furlong between the land late of the Earl of Warwick on the east and the land formerly of Thomas Cale and now of Simon Cale on the west and extending in length between the common fields there and the pasture of Wilncote, also 1/2 acre of arable land lying between Clopton hedge and the King's highway leading towards Strattford; also 1/2 acre of land lying in the field of Willacombe in a place called Hawine; with all woods, rents, profits and rights; to hold for ever from the king as of his manor of Eastgreenewick by fealty and not by knight's service, rendering annually 7s. at Michaelmas and Lady Day in equal portions Signed: John Greene, Thomas Greene Dated 2 September 24 Charles I 1648 Witnesses, endorsed: Thomas Wyse, Henry Recbyr, William Ainge, Robert Howes, Simon Cale 1.
