Description

Seventeenth century copy of a lease with warranty from John Archer the younger of Tonworthe' gentleman, to John Whateley of Henley in Arderne, draper, of a croft with a meadow lying in Bltteley called Bodys fylde; to hold to the said John Whateley, his wife and heirs for 60 years, rendering annually 20s. [2 terms], the said John Archer having the right of distraint if the said rent be unpaid or in arrears one monthe beyond the said terms and the right of re-entry if the said rent be unpaid or in arrears six weeks beyond any of the said terms; the said John Whateley to mound the said land and to maintain the hedge between the said Bodys fylde and another hedge at the end of the meadow next to the ground of the said John Archer towards Henley; also the said John Whateley may by taking wood from the said ground make of arable and mowable within the hedge, excepting the two coppices, one extending in length after Welfylde and the other lying in length after the land of Rowland Stokes.
