Tanworth

Description

Agreement between Alice widow of Henry de Alreschawe and William her son, reciting that the said Alice holds for life all the lands and tenements which Thomas de Alreschawe chaplain had by the gift of William de Bello Campo earl of Warwick in Taneworth', with reversion to the said William and Simon his brother, whereby the said Alice grants that, notwithstanding her free tenure, the said lands shall be divided between the said William and Simon, on condition that, during her lifetime, they would cultivate the land but paying only half the cost and receiving half the crops, the said Alice covenanting to pay the remaining costs in return for the other half of the crops. Witnesses: Roger Geryn, William de Belne, Richard Gower, Richard de Alreschawe, Nicholas Gower, Adam de la Heth', Thomas de Gorsthulle and others.
