Description

Demise for the life of the grantees from Richard de Budisforde and John le Mareschale of Bustlesham [ Bisham, Berks] to Robert de Fulwode and Simon his son of a messuage lying beyond le Erleswode with a certain field called le Fordelond' and 7 acres of land lying in a field called le Fiffacr'es and that pool which was formerly a marlpit lying on the left of the highway leading from Erleswode through the tenement of Richard Prat towards Henleye with all appurtenances in Toneworth; to hold for the term of their lives rendering annually to the said grantors a rose on the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist in lieu of all services and giving due and customary service to the grantors and the chief lords of the fee. Sealing clause. Dated at Toneworth, Tuesday before the feast of St Margaret the Virgin 20 Edward III. Witnesses: John de Lodbrok', John Wodard, Richard atte Berne, Roger Belnye, John Dolphyn and others. Tag for two seals, one missing, a fragment of natural wax.
