Description

Lease for life of lessee with remainder with warranty from Henry, vicar of the church of Toneworth', and Richard Dolfyn, chaplain, to Alice, widow of John Edmon of Toneworth', of all lands and tenements in Toneworth' which the grantors formerly held by gift and feoffment of the said John, excepting all the land called le Newelond' lying next to the land of Constance de Sydenhale and all that land with meadow called Beresfordelond' lying next to the land of William de Oddyngseles; to hold, excepting the excepted, for the term of her life, rendering annually to the grantors one flowering rose on the feast of the Nativity of St John the Baptist and rendering due and customary service to the chief lords of the fee, the said grantors granted that upon the death of the said Alice the lands, excepting the excepted, should pass to Sir Thomas de Broughton' knt., Sir John Monteforbi knt., Richard de Monteforbi, Thomas le Archer, Thomas de Lodbrok' William de Oddyngseles, John Sparry, Robert de Crowenhale, Henry de Sydenhale of Toneworth', William Wodart of Toneworth', Nicholas Durassal, William Gower and John Dolfyn the elder; to hold the same from the chief lords of the fee for due and customary service. Sealing clause. Dated at Toneworth', Sunday after the feast of St Dionysius, 35 Edward III.
